November Antenatal Class:

Sun 2 Nov and Sun 9 Nov

from 1:30 pm - 6:30 pm each day

Why is the class 2 Days?

There is a lot of content to cover! So instead of trying to cram it all into a single day, I've split it over two days. The days are a week apart because I feel it is best to let the information from day one sink in, thus giving you an opportunity to come back with any questions that may have come up since the day of the class.

Do you cover the same information on both days?

No, there are so many topics that we will discuss, that both days are completely different. On the first day, we will discover labour and all of its moving parts, pain management techniques and relaxation, hospital procedures and interventions, inductions and caesareans.

On the second day, we start with the end of labour and move on to infant care, infant feeding, post partum depression, and self care.

This is just a high level view of the topics covered - and there will be plenty of room for questions throughout!

How much does the class cost?

As I am in the teaching practice phase with Antenatal Ireland, my classes are at a reduced rate of €150. This covers you and your birth partner for both days. It also covers an annual membership to your local Cuidiú branch, and Irish Family Support Charity that provides Breastfeeding Support, Parenting Support, and Antenatal Education.

Should my birth partner attend as well?

Yes! Birth Partners should attend because they are an integral part in the birth journey and they are very much included in the class.

Your birth partner can be your civil partner, your mother, your sister, your friend, your doula, or even your neighbour! Whoever is taking this journey with you.

Is this class the same as the one in the hospital?

Yes and no. Some topics are similar, but the benefit of an Antenatal Ireland class is that the class sizes are small, so there is more time for direct questions and answers. Also, I serve the local community, while in a hospital, people can be from a very wide catchment area.

The Antenatal Ireland classes are in a relaxed setting, outside of normal business hours to suit more families, and tailored to cover multiple learning styles.
